"Remember You Have a Divine Soul."
"On this day they arrived at the wilderness of Sinai"
This day.
Today.
Everyday.
At Sinai Gd spoke to the entire Jewish people,
it was a Divine encounter like no other ever.
God made Himself known to all of us with an
awesome "sound and light show."
There was thunder and lightning,
a heavy cloud,
the sound of the shofar,
smoke such that the
"The whole mountain shuddered exceedingly."
As a people we achieved an unprecedented degree of unity.
We stood together with one heart, sharing a common destiny.
God spoke to all of us collectively and at the same time God spoke to
each one of us individually/specifically.
The experience at Sinai was so overwhelming that
our souls couldn't stay grounded in our bodies.
Each soul left and merged with God.
Each one of us died and
needed to be revived.
We could not survive the overwhelming nature of Gd's revelation and so
God ‘withdrew’ and continued the encounter with
Moses on top of the mountain.
Moses went up into the Heavens to receive the rest of the Torah
to teach it to us later.
.
At Sinai each person became an open vessel in order
to receive the laws of the spiritual world.
We all experienced God in this way for it to be imprinted onto our souls for all time.
Just like at Sinai, in our days too, there is a "bas kol" (Heavenly voice)
coming out from the heavens
speaking personally to every one of us.
God is asking us to "return,"
to live meaningful lives,
to live with a sense of our own power,
to live with inspiration and passion.
This 'voice' is constantly talking to and surrounding us.
This voice is hard to hear and easy to deny.
Yet those same souls which experienced the revelation at Sinai, are
deep within each one of us.
Our soul experienced that overwhelming revelation and connection
to God and to each other
Maybe we “hear” or recognize this call in different ways and at different times.
It may lurk deep under the surface so that
we hardly realize that we have been inspired.
It might be through a powerful experience
or a casual comment of a friend.
It may be through the people in our lives who believe in us,
are present for and support us through our life journey.
Droves of angels descended and surrounded the Jewish people at Sinai.
Those angels continue to surround us.
In addition, we are able to create new angels
everytime we close the Divine circuit breaker.
Everytime we do a mitzvah, a good angel is created
which accompanies us on our journey through life.
God's Presence is everywhere,
Sometimes our life experiences are just too overwhelming,
too lonely,
too much to experiences such that
we lose touch with ourselves and with God.
Let's remember that we have deep inside,
a Divine soul yearning to connect to
God and to each other.
God is constantly loving and sustaining us,
believing in and waiting for us to reconnect.
May we be successful in this endeavor.
Much love
